Piscean, me too! I have been a little "up in the air" about the the whole concept - I really dislike being told what something is supposed to mean - but have figured the visual aspect of it will make it interesting, and decided to make it a thing where I jump in head first.

Thanks for explaining the origin of "Pirates". For a minute there, I thought this was the introduction to a new song. (How cool would that have been, to introduce a new song in visual form before releasing the music?)
Anyway, I, too, have am curious as to how I will react to different artists' interpretations of the songs. I've purposely not looked at the panels posted at undented.com because I want to wait until I have the book to experience it all for the first time. I'm weird like that.
Oh, I get it now
Thanks a lot for your explanations!! I does sound very interesting with this Comic Book Tattoo

"Excuse me, but can I be you for a while? My dog won't bite if you sit real still"
its not really got anything to do with the lyrics. its the artists and writers interpretations of the songs... for more infor go to www.undented.com, which btw has got links to panels from bouncing off clouds, winter, here in my ehad and mr. zebra...uh mr. zebra is, well intersting

Okay, but I'm still not sure what a comic book tattoo has to do with the songs listed in here? Are they going to make a book with the lyrics to these songs? Or... I don't know what else to suggest

"Excuse me, but can I be you for a while? My dog won't bite if you sit real still"
I agree, I believe it is a reference to Flying Dutchman.
"...They say, your brain is a comic book tattoo
And you'll never be anything..."
Now, what the lyric means is definitely open to interpretation. I think it means that they think his mind is just the empty shadow of a fanciful thing. They don't understand him or his mind so they belittle it.
"...'Cause they can't see
what you're born to be.
They can see me.
They can't be
what they can't believe.
They can see
what you see..."
Of course I think it is important for every EWF to draw their own conclusion on song lyrics. It is supposed to be a personal journey. So if it means something different to you, then by all means rock that out.

i dont think that the comic book tattoo means anything its just an anthology of little comics. im vaguely sure that the term 'comic book tattoo' is a line from the flying dutchman, and considering that flying dutchman is the first comic is the first song on the list, i would assume it came from there

I felt that way when I saw Honey, Merman, and Suede. Although I have to say I'm a little ambivalent. I have definite feelings and mental images that go with the songs, and I'm kind of reluctant to let others in.

i basically torigasmed when i saw siren and sweet the sting was on the list...im intrigued by the adp ones too. cant wait to see teenage hustling

I believe Pirates is from the "Y Kan't Tori Read" era.
By the way, I am loving the list, especially the inclusion of B-sides.
