Justin vs. Madonna
I love their new song, '4 minutes' - I've been listening to it for hours now
Am I right in saying that Timbaland has produced it? It seems to me that he's a genius, he keeps on making hit after hit... (of course, he can never be compared to the genius above all, that is to say our own Tori
)
Are any of you as excited about this song as me?

ahh I love it too! At first I didn't but,
I can tell that if I hear it too much, I won't like it anymore.
Btu yeah, Madonna is still @ it and making music, which makes her wonderful.
She's a great performer.

"I'm Fire and Air, All in a nova-sandwich"
I'm gonna be the party pooper here and say that I flat out hate it.

I LOVE Madonna as much as the next (gay) guy, but to me this is yet another Justin Timberlake/Timbaland song that I do not need nor care for.
It's almost like Madonna had nothing to do with this! Like WB just said "you know what honey? we need you to sell like a motherf*cker on this one so we can earn a few more bucks before you go, so we're gonna pair you with what's hot now". And she went screw it, I need to appeal to a younger audience, so let's do this.
Timbaland makes hip hop for people who don't like hip hop, that's why it's so catchy! But it's not really a good song, the lyrics are trite and the only bit I like is the whole "tick-tock-tick-tock" thing 'cause it reminds me of "Confessions...", back when Madonna was still 100% unique and doing stuff nobody else was doing (I mean, to bring back/reinvent disco ?! Who else could possibly pull that off if not the Queen?).
I'm kinda sorry for Madonna on this one. What I've heard from Hard Candy so far, I've seriously disliked.
I hope I grow to love it, but right off the bat I'm already unimpressed.

** Break the terror of the urban spell **
I have only heard clips of it so far, but it seems like a decent pop song. I don't mean that as a put-down, just that it fits well within its genre.
As a side note, I know I have written about the "Even Better Than the Real Thing" series of CDs until you guys are sick of hearing about it; but I was shocked at how much better I like the "Cry Me a River" version by Glen Hansard. (I hadn't given that song a second thought before hearing the different version) All of the songs on those are performed live by other artists, often as different as night and day from the originals, and often they are acoustic and are very different arrangements.

Gosh - I've been spending all weekend so far dancing to this song!! You guys are right that the lyrics aren't the best, but I just looooove the beat - it makes me wanna dance for hours

"Excuse me, but can I be you for a while? My dog won't bite if you sit real still"
I also think the song's good, though it doesn't excite me that much. At the moment I'm much more excited by some rock bands from 60s to 90s
but a few years ago I did like Madonna a lot - her album "Ray Of Light" is still one of my favourites (I remember crying to "Frozen" and "Power Of Good-bye" not a long time ago
) As for Justin, the only song of him that impresses me is the one mentioned by Bush411- "What Goes Around... Comes Around". that's a cool piece.
It's cool.
Glad they collaborated.
I miss Madonna's old style though.

Hello AH!
I will second the comments made by Cloudonmytongue. The music and beat are exceptional. However, the lyric quality is not that good. I do enjoy listening to it, but would never rank it among the truly great songs.
Most of Justin's songs seem to me to be designed to sell. He does an excellent job of achieving that end. However, I have never been very impressed with most of his songs, lyrically. He does have a genius for creating huge hits - but not, at lest to me , for creating true works of arts - other than his song entitled: "What Goes Around."
Steve B.
I really like the tune - it's very catchy, and the beat makes me want to move. But the lyrics are VERY unimaginative - 'the road to hell is paved with good intentions - yeah'.
But the song is good and I like their voices.
