The Beekeeper
For me, The Beekeeper was a really feminine album. It flirts, flaunts, and flourishes, much like a butterfly. I'll admit that I've always had trouble getting in touch with my feminine side, so this was a tough album for me to connect with. I always liked the moody Pele album, the eccentric Under the Pink, the blunt and powerful American Doll Posse, but The Beekeeper was much softer, more motherly. However, this album still carries a strong and serious message. Many of us love that Tori Amos is fearless when it comes to issues of religion, hierarchy, and preserving certain truths. The Beekeeper is a CD which was fun to tag along with, but it's not my favorite Tori "era" thus far. However, if you're a fan of The Beekeeper, I'd suggest you check out the live bootlegs. Auditorium Theatre, Chicago and Royce Hall Auditorium, Los Angeles are some of the best bootlegs out there. Also, there's great recordings of the ever so provocative Blood Roses, which appeared on this tour in the form of deep vocals and organ. I'm one of those people who will suggest any Tori CD, but The Beekeeper really is something that shows you a side of Tori which is unlike the other albums. I'd suggest it for serious Tori fans.
Perfection
This is Tori's best album ever and even now I cannot stop listening to it. Every song has a story, a feeling, and a meaning to me. I don't know where I would be without Tori's music, and in particular this album. Thanks Tori.

I think I Understand...
still tori .
In my opinion is not the best of tori but it's still tori and she's done a good job .
But still my favourites are 'from the choirgirl hotel' and ' to venus and back' .

Georgia
Reminds me of Georgia:Baker down in Barstow country on the BIG ONE!
Up the inside and down the outside, straight through to the center of the thing; the wonder and grace of the place; and the meaning of it all!
Tower Rock, Updraft Cafe'. swimmin' in the stuff off the ledge...
Gorga:Moya, Tita, Great Baker Road from Baker to Baker and Georgia to Georgia.
And the Geese fly EAST for the winter, as they always have...
I come with my offering. In the mirror I see what I've never seen before.
What I once was I'll never be again. What I am now will never come; before me or behind me, in peace or in haste. I stand amazed at my own reflection. In peace I come as in peace I'll go.

The Undiscovered Country
Not Sure...
When I first bought this cd, I did my best to like it and listen over and over, but I just didn't get it. This is my least favorite of the Tori collection. It is now almost three years later and I've started listening to it again just to see if I feel the same. It is very pretty and nice, but it lacks the rawness and honesty that we all love about Tori. There are only about two or three songs that I like very much on this, but that's about it. I don't know if Tori was taking a break from letting it all hang out. I am going ti continue to listen just to see if anything changes...

My thoughts
I absolutely LOVE this album!
I can't put into words how much I love it!
Every song is amazing! Especially 'Ribbons Undone'
I know after during and after this album, many EWF's thought that Tori was getting softer in her old age, and weren't liking it very much.
But I was looking forward to another album like this!
And I hope she does another one like it in the future
In my "why I like Tori" section on this site I said her music deeply penetrates my heart and soul.
And I have to say I feel it most with this album!

academia?
This album seems like it's trying to prove a point. It sounds like she wants to be a mother and has no energy left to roughhouse with the instruments. There're some intellectual points of interest on this CD, and I feel like she's experimenting with a concept album more intensely than even Venus, but I don't feel Beekeeper brings the best out of Tori. Put Boys for Pele back on, I'm tired of grimacing at all this Happy Religion.
Not Crazed...
Although I absolutely love Scarlet's Walk, I think Tori was treading a tamer path that led to this album. More disappointing than The Beekeeper itself was the solo piano tour she embarked upon in support of it, showing a complete disregard for the rich, layered arrangements put down for the studio versions of the songs. Least listened to of her albums, next to Under The Pink (sorry, I'm a "Choirgirl/Venus/Scarlet/Strange" guy myself.)
Beekeeper
It took me a couple of months to get into this album but now it is indispensible. Thanks for yet another great album!!!

"in tracking the Beakon here - is there a signal there - on the other side?"
I'm mad about this album!! and I'll say it again and again
'The Beekeeper' is my beloved album, even though it's not as 'Tori' as most fans would like it to be.
'The Beekeeper' makes me tremble every time I listen to it, and contains magical lyric. 'Hoochie Woman' is this one which makes me dance
Never mentioning the powerful pieces like 'Barons Of Suburbia' or 'Marys Of The Sea'...
It includes some songs that make me cry/ dance/ sing loudly... 'Sweet the Sting' is my favourite, for that's the very first song of Tori I've ever heard. 'Witness' is the song I'd love to have played during my funeral- just to make the guests shocked
This album gives me so much joy! And it's also quite challenging intellectually because of the specific lyrics. Well, I'm a Beekeeper girl, definitely. Please, try to give TBK one more chance if you still claim it's bad
Perfection
I have every album that Tori has released. It seems to me that every other album tends to be "experimental." This one may be a bit mainstream to some, but I love it. Each and every song is a painting. Just as "Parasol" was based on George Seurat's " A Sunday on La Grande Jatte," with all of its layers, these songs are complex.
Easy Listening
When i first listened to this I wasn't in love with it . It has since grown on me and now I like it very much. I love that Tori takes chances and mixes things up. This was a much softer sound than I was used to and thats cool. I love the title track and "Sweet the Sting".
Amazing, as always.
My sister purchased the special edition of this record for me on Christmas of '07. I had only heard a few of the tracks before that, but once I sat down and really listened to the whole album I fell in love. It came with a special DVD where Tori talks about certain tracks--I've watched that DVD about 20 times. Although a number of Tori fans I know don't like this album because they say it's 'too soft' or 'not the same Tori', I have to disagree. Every person has reason for doing things they do, and so much was explained once I actually listened to the lyrics and focused on them. Each track has a special story to tell--and any musician that can do that is truly gifted.
The Beekeeper
I really like this album. I love everything that Tori has done. My favorit songs on it is Barons of Suburbia, Toast and Sweet the sting.
This is so cool.
this is a very poetic album
Me likes i don't think this is her best album but still very good job.
