Tori duets
Hello everyone,
I thought it'd be interesting to see who people would like to see Tori do a duet with. It can be a band, artist, or musician and doesn't have to be just one person. I know she's done a few already but perhaps if we see someone who we know she has already done a duet with we can let people know so they can have a look.
Cheers,
Claire

I've heard of it, but not listened to it. I love Tori, but Tom Jones creeps me out. I can't put my finger on why, but he does.

Cool.. Thanks a lot for letting me know! I will check it out immediately
*And I will cross my fingers that the trojans will soon go away*

anyone remember/heard the tori and Tom Jones duet? It's amazing. You only really hear her in the background but it's pure cheese.
Maynard and Tori FTW if they ever do a top 100 duets of all time, that has to be in there
Duet I'd be interested in, tori and fiona apple. I think they could come up with something really spesh
I Loved the performance when she sang "Muhammed My Friend," with Manyard James Keenan from Tool~ his voice sounds perfect for the song

"I'm Fire and Air, All in a nova-sandwich"
I loved the cover she did of one of cohens songs though. so pretty and sad.
almostrosey1, wow leonard cohen... and Tori now that would be very very interesting to hear. I don't know why but i just imagine her pairing more with guys than with women. Only perhaps singing Hoochie Woman with Aretha would be interesting;-)
oooh raz- that could be an interesting pairing-

I knew there was a new one out by her, but not what it was like. Thanks for the info Sammy. It just reminds me why I love her too.

"So now you're off, you're gonna see America.
Well, let me tell you something about America...".
Haha Terratori! You're right.
Thanks for that SammyJay. 'Twas interesting. I'm not sure if it's just me but I can't Imagne Tori singing with 20 plus other artists in the chorus. I think she'd be all for the cause but she seems a bit too... non-chorusy (?) or something like that... If that makes sense.
I have the Annie Lennox -album, and here´s what she had to say about "Sing":
(this is from the enhanced cd that came with the album. following words by Annie Lennox)
Sing
‘Sing’ is going to be a platform, to focus on the issue of HIV/AIDS and women and children. It’s a female anthem and I have invited many other internationally renowned female singers who are all very well known, including the likes of Madonna, Celine Dion, Joss Stone, just amazing, Anastasia’s on it. I’m so proud of it, there are 23 phenomenal artists singing in the chorus of ‘Sing’.
The Generics are members of Treatment Action Campaign, they are a musical group. And on each track of their CD they are singing about different aspects of activism. They are singing about the need for medication, they’re speaking about the need to speak up about AIDs when there is so much fear of stigma, just even talking about the disease itself.
And I thought, well what can I do? What can I do? And then I thought if I were to write an anthemic song, such as ‘Sisters Are Doing It For Themselves’, maybe then I could utilise one of the Generics’ songs. So I topped and tailed it and I took the introduction to their song and dove-tailed it into my song and then the outro comes back to the Generics again - so that puts it into a context that I am singing about HIV AIDS.
And I am hoping that it’s going to serve people very well and that I will bring people’s attention and awareness to the kind of day-to-day issues that people are having to face in another part of the world that they are not so aware of. And I am hoping that that will snowball and become something bigger and bigger over the years.
I think the thing is this, that I believe in partnership. I think that when you are living a comfortable existence and you’ve had some success - as I’ve had success in all kinds of ways - I now feel I want to be in partnership with women that maybe don’t have the same freedoms and potentialities that I have. And because I can. And that’s where I want to take it in the future, I want to develop this idea of a project, musical projects with people on the other side of the globe, through song, through music, where I can bring attention to certain issues. And I think it’s really elegant.

Everybody knows if they walk into my life they’ll never know when they’ll end up in a song. If you walk into a room where I am, you’ll be in a mill – if you’re interesting. If I’m good, you won’t know it’s you.
Tori in an interview with Tonedeff
Here we go it's for her 2007 album 'Songs of Mass Destruction' and it's only one song they're all on... alas, no Tori (but it is Wikipedia so don't take it too seriously)
For the album, Lennox has gathered together twenty-three female artists for a collaboration on the song "Sing". Anastacia, Isobel Campbell, Dido, Céline Dion, Melissa Etheridge, Fergie, Beth Gibbons, Faith Hill, Angelique Kidjo, Beverley Knight, Gladys Knight, k.d. lang, Madonna, Sarah McLachlan, Beth Orton, Pink, Bonnie Raitt, Shakira, Shingai Shoniwa, Joss Stone, Sugababes, KT Tunstall, and Martha Wainwright are all part of the line-up delivering this "powerful feminist anthem".
Annie Lennox has just released a new album with duets... I'll see if I can find whether Tori's on it.
BC you have it there with Annie Lennox. They are both powerful singers and it would be hot to hear them both do each other's songs together.
...just when you escape you have yourself to fear...
I´m repeating myself here, but I´d love to see her do something with Nick Cave. And I second Bending´s suggestion about Annie Lennox also.

Tori and Eddie Vedder is what i'd like to see happening.
And in the "opposites attract" logic, i'd say.. hmm.. i dunno Elvis Costelo perhaps. I'd love to see that other jazzy side of her.
I think it would be lovely to hear Tori perform "Thin Line Between Love and Hate" with Annie Lennox. Also they could really do something new and interesting with "Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)", it was Annie's to begin with, but they've both played it over the years and a rework would be amazing.

"So now you're off, you're gonna see America.
Well, let me tell you something about America...".
I'll start:
I think Chris Martin (Coldplay) is another piano prodigy so I'd like to see a duet with him
and
Sarah McLachlan. The first time I heard a Tori song I thought it was a Sarah song. To me they are similar in that they are different... and have a gorgeous sound.
