So, once we get past the truth that we all take for granted -- that any Tori live performance is inherently a good thing -- I must say that I had some mixed feelings about this show.

The good:
-- Tori's vocals were great.
-- The band played well. (I assume Tori did too, but I can't really know for sure... more on that.)
-- A respectably diverse set list that included some really nice surprises.
-- The venue was intimate (and on a more personal note: my seats were much better than I'd expected, having seen the seating diagram).

The bad:
-- The drums totally overpowered everything Tori was playing in almost every song with drums. (This was most of them, save for a few in the middle that Tori played by herself without them.)
-- The lights frequently shined directly in the faces of the audience without flickering and only barely moving; basically, they just kinda decided that it was too easy for us to see Tori, and they needed to make it much harder.
-- No "God", which I'd thought for certain would be a guaranteed encore song.

Anyone else have thoughts they'd care to share?

It was a great show as always. I got to meet her parents and get pics with her too: : ) I was so happy - me and my sis in law had way better seats then we thought - 4th row center. I have been to her shows since 1994 and everything fell into place - good seats - met her parents and got pics and something signed from her. Also there were only a few left outside waiting for her for 2 hours in the rain - so we all got a very personal visit. Much thanks to the Goddess for kissing us that night

Ok so I went to the Philly, DC and Clearwater show...
Santa, Isabel & Pip!!

AHHH Sad So sad it's over,
but looking back,
I def AGREE
that the energy of her at the DC show, was by far *AMAZNG*
she was great...

but *sigh* yeah, a little redundant with the song selection though, but still,
It'was amazing, and even though my old ar died that weekend,
I'm still high & floating off the energy of "BOUNCING OFF THE CLOUDS"
that night... ;p

I danced my ass off!

Ok well. having seen 3 shows in 2 weeks i have to say one sad thing about them, I thought the song sets were way to similair. That is all. I love tori and I know she has a new guitarist and they have to relearn it all, I love spark and cornflake girl and the classics but I would have enjoyed more variety. The sound was a bit off in DC but the lights were like that in all the venues I was at. I understand that it is harder for variety on this tour, but that doesnt mean I wasnt a bit disapointed. I do love the fact that she is touching choir girl on this tour a hell of a lot more than she has in a while.

WTF????

When she canceled the M & G I asked smitty outright, will she maybe be out after the show and he said she doesnt do after show M & Gs anymore.....who attended this>??

If this is the case, I am royally pissed. This was my last show this tour

I was in the first row of the second section/center, and noticed that a lot of the piano was drowned out by the other instruments. It's always amazing to see Tori live so I was very thankful my friend managed to get such great seats (and the VIP package). Didn't really get to hear much of what I really wanted to hear on the set list and a lot of it we'd already heard during her soundcheck while we were waiting out by the merchandise table. The two songs she played in full for our portion of actually sitting in on the soundcheck, which we got to see were Secret Spell (awesome) and Horses. I was sitting in awe the whole time. She made note when she came out for the soundcheck that "this wasn't a performance, just practice" but it did seem a bit like a performance in my opinion. Who cares though..we got to sit where we wanted.

Back to the actual show though, her voice was in top form as usual and I did find it interesting with her "doll" changes. She really has become very theatrical with this whole doll thing, but I dig it. Yo George was great to open and it had a great tempo with a seriousness about it. The highlights for me were Almost Rosey (which really stuck with me after the show), Springtime, Spring Haze, Leather was fun..even though most people are like, "Leather AGAIN?" it still had a cutesy feel to it. 1000 Oceans bored me to tears and sadly, so did Jackie's Strength. I really did think she would have switched it up more by doing a couple B-sides, and perhaps SOMETHING from Under the Pink..hi, Spacedog? Too many slow numbers and there weren't really any surprises. I've seen other sets that got Take Me With You, Upside Down, Take to the Sky, Siren, Here.In My Head??? Not to mention that on Detroits T&Bo portion she did Cloud On My Tongue AND Baker Baker..a double shot of UTP.

Apparently I should've gone to any other show BUT the one I went to.

I had a blast, we sat around 4th row center. I loved the drums, and the piano I could hear everything fine. I wanted it to last all night. Smiling She is truley talented. Also we met her mother and father and got pictures with them after the show, when they were walking to the car. Also after 2 hours in the rain after the show we met Tori and got stuff signed and a few photos. There was only about 10 of us that stood there in the rain. Well worth the wait Smiling

I took pictures with me digital, but they all pretty much came out blurry for some reason and I was in row Q. Would love of someone had some great pictures to share!! Smiling

I loved it! I thought it was amazing, one of her best yet, much better than the last tour. Did anybody take pictures they would like to share? Thanks!

I thought this show was a little "Dark" ..haha and Imean DArk in a good way,
;p she sounded great, better than ever, adn yes her vocls & piano were a little silent,
but she did do "Jackies Stregnth" ~~

Although, alot of the songs she did here (Leather, Code Red, Bells For Her, 1000 Oceans, Hey Jupiter, Hotel)

She did at the Phila show!!

..ANd the Philly Show ROCKED!! She was Santa & totally peppy~!! Sticking out tongue She did "Sugar & Hoochie Woman" ..."Dragon!!"

But she also did "Concertina" in DC... which sounded awesome! (was different from anything on Sunny FL) sooooo,.. I cain't really complain! ...Sad I just wish her shows were longer & that she was going to be doing another tour again soon

Honestly, I don't care if the band does anything other than play their instruments. No offense to them, but they are not the reason I'm there and not the center of my attention, so I'm not looking to them to provide any sort of activity or entertainment. All they need to do is perform up to standard in support of Tori. That said, a huge reason I was disappointed was that I couldn't hear Tori's piano over the drums in a lot of the songs -- maybe it was just where I was sitting, but I'm not the only person who felt that way, so it's not just me. My friend, who was right next to me, agreed the drums were overpowering the piano throughout most of the show.

I was 4th row center...it was great! This was my third show and it was not her best but it was still a magical night. Rain and all. The only lights that bothered me were during professional widow....I knew it was coming so I had to close them. The venue was very intimate and the staff was organized. I noticed that the piano was drowned out at times....No one has mentioned how lifeless Dan Phelps is..It is a pain to look at him because he seems like he does not want to be on the stage.

Her energy and pep was great, the set was great, it was one of my favorite shows, and I've been seeing her since the beginning. Tho I must admit I am partial to just hearing her with the piano. And how cool her parents were there, and they were so gracious upon approach by fans.

The show was decent. Way better than the the last tour, I love her with the band, she seems to feed off of their energy. This was my 6th show and its fun to see how Tori has evolved over the years. I think the shows have gone a little more predictable and commercial and I will admit that some of the magic is gone. However with Tori you always get your money's worth and she always delivers a very full set list. I am sad to hear about the meet and greets this year. I suppose if you were lucky enough to get one of those fancy ticket packages you were able to attend one...kudos to you. For the rest of us who didn't get one, can't afford one, etc....I believe the meet and greet days are over unless you fork over the extra cash.

I don't blame Tori at all, the record company is out to make money, they want Tori to make money, hell, I want Tori to make money. Its all business.

I loved the set list, and the lighting I thought was pretty but a bit extreme.

This was my favorite Tori show. I think the sound at DAR in general sucks for the most part because there are no acoustics there. We were in the orchestra near the sound board, and I didn't notice anything wrong with the sound this time around. Everything sounded perfect to me. I think it depended on where you were sitting.

I was really happy with the range of songs last night too (even though we didn't get to hear Siren)

I'm glad I have a positive outlook after spending 4 hours in the rain with no meet and greet yesterday. Little bummed about that, but glad to see the show is up on legs and boots!

I'm also happy for one of my fellow standing in liners as this was his first show, and Choirgirl was his favorite album. She played a bunch of that for him.

Was a cool set to say the least.I was rather bumbed you couldn't hear the piano very well with the band playing. Why didn't the sound board turn down the drum mics or raise the piano? I am going to download the bootleg and see how it sounds. Hopefully they get it right next show.Enough complaining.I thoroughly enjoyed the show despite the technical flaw.

Any one know whos opened this show or any songs that were performed? www.undented.com hasn't posted the track lists and the bootlegs site hasn't even posted the show as of 6:08 am EST

The concert was my first Tori concert. I have to say the drums were not too bad at least for me. I found it hard to understand what she was singing lyrically. It was good but was not the best. I have been to a lot of concerts small and large. I watched to equalizers and they wer redlining a lot, not good audio wise. I have to say frankly I was a little bored besides shouting I love Tori on silent moments. the concert in general was not bad and could have been a little better. I was disppointed actually. I love The CD, and her previous works. I was a little irrate about waiting one and half hours in the rain for Tori to grace us with her apperance after the show. I wanted an autograph as per usual fan fare. The body guard stated that they did not have time to sign autographs for all the people. 15 to be exact. Most wanted photos with Tori. I did not think cameras were allowed and did not bother to bring one. All I wanted was a autograph. I got a once over and that was that. Disappointed! YES I AM. I have been a dedicated fan for over 20 years. When she was still at peabody institute playing the rounds in baltimore, TORI no offense! I am greatly disappointed in the concert and the once over I got. Fans are your income generators, and you need to take time out to appreciate dedicated fan who wait one and half hours to a get a once over and rude comments from a body guard. Stating you do not have enough time. I do not have time to attend anymore concerts in the future. Thanks for listening Pan. OH by the way the POSSE CD is the best just not the concert in general.

I'm hesitatnt to say that I was a little bit disappointed at the show. Tori was *awesome* and I will remember it for the rest of my life. However, I agree with the overpowering drums. I was also sad that everyone was sitting. I was hoping to do more standing, swaying and dancing. I could hardly sit still in my seat (which was much better than I expected also!!) For the encores, we did walk up to the stage, so I was only about 30 feet from her which was cool Smiling I think I just worked myself up so much with it being my first tori concert and travelling from hawaii to see it. I don't want to say I was a little disappointed, I was so happy being there. Her gown that she came out in at first (it was isabel by the way and she started with Yo, George) was beautiful. She was so full of energy Smiling I happened to see the annoucement this morning, so we got there in time. I noticed that a lot of people weren't there yet and I figured a lot of people didn't know about the change. If you missed the opening act, you missed out on some good stuff. Talk about sexy!

I wish I could catch another show before going back home, but I'm happy with what I got.

yes! i would like to share too. Well first of all, I do not regulary check this site or undented, so I had no idea the concert was starting earlier. The tickets just said 8:00 so I figured doors open at 8, opening band won't be done til 9, Tori won't be on til close to 10. Boy was I wrong! I am still trying to figure out why ticketmaster couldn't have sent out an email!!
So we got into DC at around 915....only to find a hellacious parking situation. We ended up having to park in a garage, which turned out to be a huge ordeal because somehow we got lost in the garage and ended up in the lobby of the building...so another 20 minutes gone by.
To make a long story short, by the time we get inside she is playing Bells For Her....so I don't know where that was in the set, but if she really started at 815 she was definitely about 2 hours deep into the set when we got in. She sounded great, she seemed to have this really incredible energy that I have not seen on some of the recent tours. I really was not too fond of her outfit, but who cares...it's freaking Tori! I am disappointed that by the time we got there she must have played alot of the new stuff, because it seemed like she was in a very TVAB mood at that point in the show.
I think she sounded great as always, but honestly I wish she would incorporate more songs into her live shows, it seems like she is always playing "Precious Things", "Hey Jupiter", etc.... I mean not that they aren't great songs, but I would have loved to hear more stuff that rarely gets played at live shows....such as Take Me With You, off the recent boxed set, or how about Honey, Sister Janet, Here In My Head, Doughnut Song...you get the point.
Leather and Code Red were the best ones that I saw. Again, Tori really brought an amazing energy to the show tonight and I am aching right now that I missed so much of it. I hope someone posts a setlist soon and can someone tell me which "doll" she came out as in the beginning? I am still just not over the shock of missing so much, and our seats were great......ahhhh!!
I really liked the stage design and the lighting, I think I was just far back enough that the lighting wasn't getting in my eyes too much, I'm sorry to hear it was too intense up a bit closer. The twinkle lights behind the sheer curtain were really cool too. Oh yeah, I really liked Concertina too! Well I loved what I saw but wish it had been more....maybe I'll have to try for Pittsburgh ;p

I agree with you about the drums over powering Tori, I was up in section 5-Q, crappy seats but the tickets were a gift so i wasn't complaining, this was my first Tori show, i am thinking about going to the Orlando show

Tori was excellent!
