HRC Orlando Crowd - Different?

HRC Orlando Crowd - Different?
Average: 5 (1 vote)

I've been to a few shows now, and the fans are usually very polite, but I felt like the HRC show was different. Maybe it was the fact that it was general admission, maybe its the atmosphere of the hard rock, or maybe it was just the people around me and it was fine everywhere else on the floor...but I've noticed at other shows when Tori speaks, people generally shut up to hear it. In this venue I noticed particularly during the Tori & Bosendorfer songs, people were just carrying on conversations at regular volume. I also felt like she didn't spend as much time just talking to the audience as she has at other locations, maybe because of that? Still, she had a ton of energy and it was a great show. Just wish I hadn't been pissed off at the people around me during a good portion of it.

Did anyone else who went to the Orlando show feel like this felt different than others?

(Also...Camera Check? Minus 10 points, Hard Rock. Not cool.)

Wow...sorry about the "public displays of affection". I really didn't see too much of that...maybe I was just too busy...had a really sexy date :-\ Who can be mad at two hot girls making out? Now that's just silly!

Yeah, I wish she had talked more too. I was really hoping to hear some Tori-isms at the show. But I guess if I started to talk and people refused to stop screaming and yelling while I spoke, I probably wouldn't talk much either!

Still, I'm going to keep reiterating in every post I make because I'm still reeling -- her energy and performance were fantastic!!

I've been to lots of concerts by different acts, and by far I've seen the most public displays of affection by people at Tori shows. I wonder if these people realize that many of us really don't care to see them all over each other. And at most venues, it's not as if we can simply move.

i didnt mind the singing along.
but the talking was uncalled for.
i felt as if people were being disrespectful not only to the other fans but to tori as well.

and i thought tori would be more talkative since it was the first florida show. but alas i guess it wasnt to be.

although seeing pip live preforming the waitress was insane. a dream come true for me Smiling

if she ever plays the hard rock again tho i am getting balcony seating being in a sea of stinky people (im pretty sure the guy i was standing behind had gas, as the smell disappeared when he did) wasnt so much fun for me.

there were two lesbos getting each other off right in front row center, it was quite funny and a bit weird.. but i guess expected!!! my poor friend was freaked out because she felt the hand motions!!! I loved the show, hated the venue... everyone crowded and mashed, people acting like dumb asses, and saddest of all, no tori improvs Sad

I'm really sorry you guys didn't get the sort of show you should have, and that Tori was in such a crap venue. I'm sure she was giving it all, she always does, but I think if I were in her shoes I'd be really discouraged by the atmospere you guys are describing. Maybe she'll avoid those sorts of venues in the future.
Here in Charlotte we didn't get a bootleg either. And I'm still sad about it. I had really hoped to buy my show.

"So now you're off, you're gonna see America.

Well, let me tell you something about America...".

TinnyLinda, you might be on to something. The only other concert I saw on this tour was in Washington, DC. I was really amazed at how much respect people had at that concert. The second she opened her mouth, cheers & conversations stopped completely. Even the one guy (there's one at every show) yelling "I LOVE YOU TORI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" in between each and every song was quiet when she spoke or started singing.

I didn't have as much of a problem with people dancing at the Orlando show because hey, it was a floor show, you're already standing, what do I expect? The only thing that pissed me off was people dancing who had no concept of personal space. One of those uninterested boyfriends someone mentioned earlier kept falling backwards on me because he was drunk, and then accused me of trying to push him closer to the stage. Yikes. I don't know about anyone else, but I would rather go by myself (and I did!) than bring someone who really wasn't interested in the show. It just wouldn't be a good experience for me because her music is so "love it or hate it" that if whoever came with me didn't love it, we'd fight. In my experience its MUCH better to experience Tori among strangers who love her than friends who don't.

In West Palm Beach, a very short man in the row in front of me had an aisle seat and was dancing like a spaz. That was kind of entertaining, but he was also singing a lot and talking to the woman next to him, who apparently was not with him, when he was actually sitting. Finally, a woman across the aisle told him to shut up. It was kind of funny, but I could see how people were annoyed.

Meanwhile, when Raspberry Swirl started a bunch of people from the back rushed the stage and later had to be moved by ushers back to their seats.

At any rate, WPB was the only one of the three Florida concert that I went to where some iffy behavior occurred. At Melbourne and Clearwater, people where into it but cool about not annoying others.

i was betting my life she'd be pip in Atlanta, but I should have guessed it'd be Santa for rhyming reasons! haha

Is your place in heaven worth giving up these kisses?

Look guys. I've noticed from what i've been reading that the further south you get in these concerts, the ruder the attitude?! Don't get me wrong or anything. But in Atlanta there was a girl sitting right next to my mom who yelled TOoooooRRIIIIIIIIIIAHHHHHHH!! Every 5 minutes. I was so annoyed by that. Not at the time, cause I was in a trance, but after, when I remembered and watched clips that I recorded. I swear I wish I could have just freaking choked her. Or made her trip when she kept getting up to get drinks as well. ugh
haha

lol
i'm laughing hard at FatSlut's comment about the crotches on her face haha

I was in the second row of the balcony. I was so angry all night because I was CONSTANTLY having people walk in front of me to go to the bar/restroom! It really almost ruined the concert for me...I couldn't get into it because every two seconds someones crotch was in my face! Loved Tori though...it was my first concert and she was amazing!

yeah, Pip's set really was fantastic. I'm torn because I feel like maybe the fact that it was a GA show and people were up and energetic gave her a lot of energy too, but at the same time it really was ridiculously annoying that people were just chatting away during songs. Especially during Toast. that would've pissed me off if I were her.

I think danielvictor hit the nail on the head. It really is usually the uninterested boyfriends of Tori fans who are the a**holes, for the most part.

Pip Did a great show in Clearwater last nite, here too...

But honestly though, I went to DC & phila & the crowd was a little bit better bc they were more respectful~ like they would'n't keep shouting the whole time,
which I dunno, is good, but whatever...

Sad she didn't even do a meet & greet though,
and after the show, her bus just drove away, it was sad,
\a sad sad thing

i am so mad that this show is not avail for download.
anyway,
i am an orlando native and i've been to 3 tori shows.
my first was in west palm (the welcome to sunny florida DVD show)
and that was the best. i saw her at a theatre in orlando in '05 and wasnt feeling it
also, at hard rock, it WAS different. people are rude. anyway, the west palm show was amazing (sept 2003)
i must say i loved pip at hard rock and this show was great. the venuew was horrible. and a lot of girls brought their uninterested boyfriends. annoying atmosphere.
BUT
i really whis this show was avail for download. i want pip's set to be my ipod alram for the rest of my life. she was thrilling.

: (

BOS...you are absolutely correct. I was in the front row of the second balcony, great view if people would not kepp walking back and forth to the bar and carrying on conversations while the show is going on. Great venue for a party band...not Tori. I wonder why they buy tickets instead of just going to a bar if they want to talk and drink...get your drink, sit down and shut up.
Saw the Melbourne show also....completely different crowd and show. If you have the choice next time, make the drive to a real theatre.

yea, i wish she had talked to us more, but i think it was due to the time constraint.... she left the stage right at 11 pm. pip was so amazing though, i loved it! this was my third show ever, my first seeing the whole band. the gold tix ppl got screwed at this venue, it was terrible how they were let in with general admission pppl.

I've never liked Hard Rock for concerts. As HempMama said, it's basically a restaurant with a stage. A cheesy restaurant, at that. But Tori was great and more than made up for the crappy venue.

Also, I'm looking for the girl who carried a rolled up poster through the pit. If you're out there, get in touch with me please!

I didn't go to the Orlando show, but I was wondering about that. The one time that I went to Hard Rock , it seemed just like a restaurant just with a stage. I couldn't imagine a Tori show there. I was wondering how that show would be.
