Marianne Video
Hey all,
Conducting a little experiment, I made this video of recycled tv clips and parts of the documentary "Century of the Self" (really good doc. by the way, you can see it on Youtube) set to Tori Amos' Marianne. I'm putting it out there for you to enjoy (or not enjoy).
Check it out...

Thank you for the feed back. I have been a tori fan since I was 14 and first heard "Precious Things". I love her creative perspective on religion in modern America. My secret hope is that she sees this video and likes it. My work has always focused on modern mythology, gender, and more traditional religious thought. If you check out my youtube channel, youtube.com/karinjer you will see I've done a lot of work on media. My video on Marianne has had a few hits, like 200, mostly from Tori fans I would imagine. The world of music is evolving, people pirate music all the time, but this way we all get great cultural information and exposure to more artists. Check out my video on Christiana Morgan a really interesting woman in the 1920s.

She was one of the women in the Marianne video towards the end.

I wish there were fewer clips of the pianist. I understand using it to underline the music, but since they don't sync, it just made me notice how often it was used. Otherwise the flow of things was very nice. I haven't seen the documentary yet, so maybe it will make more sense to me then, but could you explain your choice of still images near the end? I wasn't sure what the relationship between JFK's funeral procession and the image of the person who appeared to be Native American was. Lives cut short?
It is a very interesting piece. I wonder if you'd talk to us more about it.
