What to do?
What to do? What to do?
Last summer, I really got into Tori's music, and I spent the next 6 months getting to know all of her songs.. Then I started in school and it caused me a lot of stress - I didn't even have time to listen to Tori. NOW I MISS HER!!! However, I can't seem to find the right songs - I mean the songs that fit my mood at the moment... I never had a problem like that before...
What to do? What to do?

At the moment I'm feeling Almost Rosey.
I've found my Tori again
It feels so great to finally have time to just sit down and listen to her wonderful songs again and again.. Right now, it's Marianne and Father Lucifer that are the most important ones to me - tomorrow it might be some new ones
But hey, I'm back in the game

No joke, "Hey Jupiter" is the song I find myself humming or singing along to the most. It's not my favorite song of hers, but I always hear it in my head. What a powerful and resonating song it is...
Misty, for me it is. Finding out where I am inside, then how I relate to the space outside myself as well. I think that because I have such a strong emotional connection to music (particularly Tori) that it really helps me still the voice of my inner chatter and truly hear myself.

Wow MLT...that must have been something. We didn't get 'Hey Jupiter,' for our show, but that would have been too much bliss for me
Peace...

a vacation from your job that you love?
i thought that if you loved your work - then it wasn't work, it was play?
Hey Jupiter is my tone this evening. Tori played it as one of her last songs in NC - my first concert - and she was facing us - i managed right to the stage - OMG! while she played the Hammond... and she was really into the song... a heavy flow to it, ya know? a good song to call out and connect those basal drummings within the gut...
Glad you could find Tori again, AH.

hey there ya'll.

just wondering if the hum is a part of listening to the vibration of your own energy
and if you have an affinity for her music
then listening to your hum - your vibration
will bring back to mind and heart
a song of Tori's that matches that vibration within...
listen.
sweetness or angst.
power.
ah-hummmmm.

I'm always glad to share something good.
It can be hard sometimes when you are in an artistic field and you get "stuck". If you just keep thinking about how you can't think of anything, you'll just make things worse. So you have to figure out a way around that. Kind of like, 'if all the doors are locked, climb in the window'.

Hey Bending, I tried the humming thing and guess what? I first ended up with "Everything" by Anouk,. Anouk is humming in the song as well, so it was obvious I'd end up with that song. But then just ten seconds later I ended up with... "Marianne".!!!!!!! I've been listening to it for over an hour now. It really helps when you're studying Latin, lol
. Take care and thanks for the (funny but efficient) advice!!!!
Oh, AH, let us know if the humming worked
!!??

Wow Bending, that sounds like a great idea!! I've always been very interested in the meditating thing, but I've never quite figured out how to do it... I'll definitely try your idea and see where it brings me

Thanks and take care

Sit very still in a comfortable place, close your eyes, and start to hum. Just a single sound at first, then let your imagination go. Try not to think about it, just let it come. You will start humming music quicker than you expect.
This is a meditation thing I do before I start a new project. (a way to mentally clean out the cobwebs
) And you'd be surprised how often Tori's songs come to me and and sort of 'set the tone' of things. I hum them for a little bit, (kind of letting them visit), then push them along and try to find my own little tune. After that I pull out my sketch pad, (or whatever else I might be working with) and dive in.
Different days and different places all seem to have different songs. So it is a good way to sort of 'stretch' before getting started on something. Kind of like tapping into the moment and letting it guide you.
