I'm a fan (and you should be too) because...Tori is such a diverse artist who does many new things, as well as incorporating influences from other artists. She always manages to re-invent herself for every album (as any great artist does...just look at Madonna) and always keeps her 'Ears with Feet' interested and fascinated. Her lyrics are always from the heart and meaningful, not any of the rubbishy clap-trap that you'd hear listening to 'Top-40' music. She is intelligent and has a mystique about her that only adds to my fascination with her. She never fears to wear her heart on her sleeve and bare her emotions, not only for her own healing, but also to make others aware of how to do the same. Above all, Tori seems to me, to be true to herself through her music, only making music that she is happy with and is properly finished and expresses what she wants it to, rather than letting music companies or radio stations dictate her style.
I have heard people say that Billy Joel wrote the soundtrack to their lives. I would say that Tori Amos has written, and continues to write, the soundtrack to my life.
