I've been a fan since wayyyy back when - it was sometime in late 91 or early 92 (its a blur now) that I heard 'Winter' on the radio. I was 13 years old and was going through some tough times at home.. When that piano intro came on, I was immediately intrigued since I played the piano (or tried very hard to) - and when she sang the words, it was like she was reading my soul. I know, it sounds trite and obsessive, but it was true - especially when you are 13! I played the song to my best friend and she got the Little Earthquakes cd and slowly slowly slowly I got into it, around the time Under the Pink came out I was hooked.
While I struggled through life and the choices I had made, I had an understanding voice to listen to it seemed... She was always there to help when things were bad, always there for a good cry.
As time passed, I still kept up with the music, the videos, etc etc. In college my apartment was plastered in posters.. now that Im all grown up, the posters are neatly kept in my closet, but I still have some nice framed photos on the walls, along with Paulina Stuckey's artwork of Tori.
I have seen Tori at least 6 times - each show is always an experience to remember. I was lucky enough to meet her in 2002, when I gave her my painting, which is up on the site here , On Scarlet's Walk - The Beginning. That was a very magical experience.
Looking forward to the new show and getting to meet Tori again!
