I'm a fan (and you should be too) because...
..........if you like musicians who are actively challenging politics and social stereotyping then Tori should be at the top of your 'check it out' list.... because, in my opinion she is probably THE most significant FEMALE Performer/Composer/Producer of the 20th & 21st C.
I first encountered Tori Amos quite by accident while listening to the radio one day. Cornflake Girl had just been released, and i hit record on my s***ty little cassette radio......i was aged 13. Now, at age 26, i'll never look back without anything less than deep appreciation for her music because it has shaped me into a woman that i'm confident being.
Tori taught me how to wear not only every aspect of my being with my head held high, but also my own skin, as if it were a dress i love and adore. she taught me that its not just ok to be a woman, but it is a beautiful existance if you always remain open and true to your inner beings.....even if you have a 'dark twin, the anhilating feminine' inside your self.
Amos's music is not just accessible to women, but equally to men, whatever your sexual orientation. i dont feel there are enough heterosexual male fans out there....but i hope that soon there will be more.....cause all you guys have serious access into understanding the female psychology that youre always wondering about .....right here in the music of this inspirational song writer and producer.
